“I bought the cheapest tyre going as it was for my spare wheel but wanted several tyres swapped around as my spare wheel was in better condition than one on the car. I fully expected to pay for the extra tyre fitting and would have been glad that they agreed to do it at all. I also asked Paul about an emissions test as I’m thinking of having an engine decarbonising treatment and wanted to measure its effectiveness. I certainly wasn’t expecting capacity for it there and then but Paul invited me to pull round and he ran two emissions tests (realising it wasn’t hot enough on the first) after assiduously ensuring the machine had the specific settings for my somewhat obsolete car. When I went to pay for all of this, I was only presented a bill for the cheap tyre I ordered in the first place. 9 out of 10 people in the motor trade seem to be crooked these days but Event Tyres are not only amongst the 1 in 10 who aren’t; you also go above and beyond that to strive for that top 1% elite tier of customer satisfaction, even for a new customer buying the cheapest tyre. I must also recognise what a careful job they did fitting the tyre and swapping my existing ones. I saw them handling my wheels with some care rather than slamming them onto the equipment as some tyre fitters do. Some people don’t appreciate that things get brittle and hard to replace after 30 years, but you do. I also noted that the final tightening of the nuts was done by hand to a precise nm setting rather than being lazy with an air gun and making it almost impossible for the motorist to remove the wheel by hand. ”
